I've decided that I hate notion, and googlecalendar, and productivity apps. I hate stupid screenshots that I have to sift through and “favourite” what I really need then sift through my “favourites”. I've tried to go digital almost since 2018 when Notion was first introduced to me by yOutUbers, and I've pretty much stopped note-taking and writing on scrap pieces of paper to write speeches as soon as I graduated.
It took me awhile to realize that looking for a book I wanted to buy (that I saw from a tiktok I screenshotted…) shouldn't be so complicated, so multi-step.
And I have decided to go analog. Which just kind of means I've decided to be:
a Grade 1 student again and have notebooks (manifestation, journal, morning pages),
a Freshman HS student and have a physical planner,
and a History major and just print every article I can find

A new found addition to this very exciting roster is scanning ephemera (or the scraps I've saved throughout the years).
And it is exciting sans sarcasm *gasp*
Because it actually feels nice to know that I've written down on one page all the pages that I want to buy. Because it's nice to just flip through pages and not open tab after tab after tab to access a NOTE. I now also print pastry recipes because I hate it when my phone turns its fucking screen off while my fingers are covered with flour.
This really doesn't mean that I've fully gone analog but I've just decided… to make my darn life easier. I obviously still use my computer. And this week I've spent way too much time making a bookstore reviews mmm.page.

Gasp, no links this month. A part of not being online means not really consuming content. I liked Saltburn, I guess. Stopped really reading on Substack because blegh. I read Bunny by Mona Awad. And have been perusing the Advance Reading Book Lists on the Rare Book School's site. Here's a list from their Lithography: The Popularization of Printing in the 19th Century course. I have a lot of non-sense notes about the “Feminine Rage”. I also just miss libraries (with English books). Which reminds me that we have no pending book requests!
If you want one, please send me the last five books you've read and I'll give you a recommendation! You'll find in the next newsletter your recommendation.
Please send me an email to biancaoutsold@substack.com (subscribers only) with your five recent reads, name, and current hometown!
